Minneapolis Advisory Committee on People with Disabilities

The Minneapolis Advisory Committee on People with Disabilities (MACOPD) serves as a resource to the Mayor, City Council, and all elected officials, leaders, and departments to ensure proactive and holistic planning is in place and that appropriate actions are taken to prevent and address issues affecting persons with disabilities as a part of their work. The Committee provides advisory services regarding Americans with Disabilities Act mandates and ways in which the City of Minneapolis can be more accessible for all persons.

Membership Description:
Members should have knowledge or expertise in one of the following areas: accessible housing, transportation, employment, or programmatical and architectural accessibility. Members should recognize that people with disabilities/handicaps have unique concerns regarding their well-being.

Must be a Minneapolis resident.

Members are appointed to two-year terms; 7 members are appointed in odd numbered years and 8 members are appointed in even numbered years.
