Heritage Preservation Commission
The Minneapolis Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC) is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of our heritage. The HPC serves as a resident advisory body to the Minneapolis City Council. They review projects related to the City's landmarks and historic districts. They guide changes to maintain historic character. Updates can be made to adapt places for modern use.

Membership Description:
The Commission has ten members. Each has an interest, knowledge, ability, or expertise in various areas. They include historic preservation, neighborhood revitalization, archaeology, urban planning, history, or architecture.

Residency Requirement:
Must be a Minneapolis resident.
Attendance Taken:
Three unexcused and/or six excused absences from regular meetings during a calendar year may result in a termination of membership.
Compensation:
$50 per meeting attended, limit 1 meeting per day and 4 per month
Selection Procedure:
The Commission uses the City's open appointments process. A committee reviews applications and makes recommendations to the full Council.
