Background Analysis
Plaintiff Sharon Morara alleged claims against the City of Minneapolis alleging that an MPD officer committed the state law tort of battery, and other state and federal claims, against her. The parties have negotiated a proposed settlement and release of all alleged damages, attorney's fees and csosts in the total amount of $65,000 from Fund/Org 06900 1500100 145400. The City Attorney's Office and MPD administration believe that the proposed settlement is in the best interests of the City and recommend approval by this Committee and the City Council.
