Authorizing a contract with Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P., in an amount not to exceed $50,000, for federal lobbying representation from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021.

Background Analysis

Lockridge Grindal Nauen P.L.L.P. The City has contracted private firms for federal lobbying services for at least fifteen years. The contracted firms include local law firms that have a Washington, DC, office or a firm based in the nation's capital. Over the past few years federal domestic policy and program funding has focused on deregulation, and attempts to reduce federal resources.  In considering the extension of the federal representation services the decision was made earlier this year to not continue the contracts. However, the COVID 19 pandemic has resulted in increased federal policies and funding to respond to the pandemic. Therefore, IGR will enter into a contract with Lockridge Grindal Nauen to provide federal representation services related to COVID-19, aviation and transportation. The contract will run from April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021. The fee ($50K) will be the same as the expired contract.
