    1. Considering the Mayor's nomination of Dr. Cedric Alexander to the appointed position of Commissioner of Community Safety for a four-term term beginning Jan 3, 2022.

    Action Taken: Approved

Government Structure Subcommittee

  1. 3 Executive mayor - legislative council government structure ordinance This link open a new window(2022-00699)

    1. Referring to staff the subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 2 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Administration, amending provisions to reflect the executive mayor - legislative council government structure adopted by the voters at the 2021 Municipal Election:

      1. Adding new Chapters 7 through 13 to form the City’s Administrative and Executive Departments, including the Offices of Public Service, City Attorney, and Community Safety; and
      2. Repealing existing provisions in Chapters 17, 21, and 25 relating to the Offices of City Attorney, Internal Auditor, and City Coordinator.
    Action Taken: Referred to staff

Addendum

  1. 4 Local government amicus brief in 303 Creative LLC, et al., v. Aubrey Elenis, et al. This link open a new window(2022-00715)

    1. Authorizing the City to join the local government amicus brief by the United States Supreme Court case of 303 Creative LLC, et al., v. Aubrey Elenis, et al. (Case No. 21-476), and authorizing the City Attorney's Office to take all steps necessary to join in support of this amicus brief.

    Action Taken: Approved
