Redistricting Group

Redistricting involves setting political boundaries to create election districts with equal populations to ensure all voters have fair representation.

The Charter Commission appoints an advisory group of up to nine eligible voters in the City, who advise the Commission about redistricting. Within two years of appointment, members must not have held any elected public office; appeared on a ballot listing his or her partisan affiliation in any election; worked as an employee of any political party (as defined by the Minnesota election law); or worked as an employee for the City in any capacity other than as an election judge.

The Redistricting Group consists of the full membership of the Charter Commission, and an advisory group of nine eligible voters in the City:

  • David Michael Aron
  • Cynthia Callanan
  • Veronica Cary
  • Glen Johnson
  • Jonathan Christian Kim
  • Kayseh Mohamud Magan
  • Anita S. Newhouse
  • Isaac David Russell
  • Jennifer Schaal
