    1. Setting a public hearing for Nov 29, 2018, to consider an ordinance amending Title 9, Chapter 173 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Fire and Police Protection: Fire, amending provisions related to powers and duties of the Fire Chief and authorized department activities.

  2. 4 Agreement between Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) and Big Fish Entertainment to record MFD personnel for a television series titled "First Responders Live" This link open a new window(2018-01269)
    1. Approving an agreement with Big Fish Entertainment to record selective MFD personnel and vehicles during the course of their duties for the purpose of filming, videotaping, photographing, and recording MFD personnel and the situations they encounter for a television series currently entitled "First Responders Live."

  3. 5 Training Reimbursement from the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education (MBFTE) This link open a new window(2018-01273)
    1. Authorizing acceptance of the Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education (MBFTE) funding under the Round 11 training reimbursement program in the amount of $86,715, awarded for MBFTE approved training conducted between July 1, 2018 - June 30, 2019.

    2. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation to the Fire Department.

  4. 6 Donation of heavy duty shelters from the Department of Defense (DoD) Firefighter Property Program to the Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) This link open a new window(2018-01271)
    1. Passage of Resolution accepting the donation of repurposed heavy duty tactical shelters from the Department of Defense (DoD) Firefighter Property Program (through the Department of Natural Resources) to the Minneapolis Fire Department (MFD) for use in tactical operations.

  5. 7 Gift acceptance from New York State - Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) for travel and lodging expenses This link open a new window(2018-01272)
    1. Passage of Resolution accepting a donation for travel related expenses from New York State - Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) for Minneapolis Deputy Chief Art Knight to attend the 2018 GIVE/CAC Symposium in Albany, NY from Oct 15-16, 2018.

  6. 8 Gift acceptance from the Special Olympics of Minnesota for travel and lodging expenses This link open a new window(2018-01266)
    1. Passage of Resolution accepting a donation from the Special Olympics of Minnesota of travel related expensesfor Minneapolis Police Deputy Chief Art Knight to attend the 2018 Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) International Conference in Las Vegas, NV from Nov 7 - 11, 2018.

    1. Directing the City Coordinator and designated staff to:

      1. Develop and issue a survey for all 911 staff that asks for input on qualities and competencies desired in naming the next 911 Director. The survey shall also allow open ended questions that solicit input on workplace recommendations to include: space and technology needs, wellness options, staff development, and training.
      2. Include staff from all organizational levels to participate in the hiring panels for a new 911 Director.
      3. Report back the results of the survey and next steps for quality improvement processes within the department no later than February 2019.
  7. 10 Contract with Infinity Wireless for two-way radio airtime/trunking services This link open a new window(2018-01267)
    1. Authorizing a two-year contract with Infinity Wireless in the amount of $4,148.16 to provide two-way radio airtime/trunking services for community outreach support, and authorizing use of the vendor's form.

    1. Receiving and filing an update regarding the staff direction given on May 25, 2018, related to the contract with Hennepin County for jail services and concerns about the separation between local law enforcement and federal immigration enforcement.

  3. 13 Domestic Violence Annual Report This link open a new window(2018-01270)
    1. Receiving and filing the annual report on efforts to reduce and prevent domestic violence in the City of Minneapolis.
