  1. 2 Minnesota Department of Human Services grant for opioid response This link open a new window(2021-00462)
    1. Accepting a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services, in the amount of $250,000, for opioid response work. 

    2. Authorizing an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Human Services for the grant. 

    3. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation of funds to the Health Department. 

  2. 3 Contracts with agencies for services under the MinneapolUS Strategic Outreach Initiative This link open a new window(2021-00465)
    1. Authorizing contracts with Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization, Corcoran Neighborhood Organization, Metro Youth Diversion Center, Restoration Inc., Urban Youth Conservation, and We Push for Peace, for up to a total of $2.3 million, for services under the MinneapolUS Strategic Outreach Initiative in 2021.

    1. Authorizing the submittal of a grant application to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in an amount of up to $250,000 annually over a five-year period, to implement violence prevention activities under the CDC’s Preventing Violence Affecting Young Lives (PVAYL) initiative.

    1. Accepting a grant from the Minnesota Department of Health, in the amount of $2,040,344, for COVID-19 response and vaccination implementation. 

    2. Authorizing an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Health for the grant. 

    3. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation of funds to the Health Department.

  5. 6 National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO) grant for COVID 19 Vaccinations This link open a new window(2021-00470)
    1. Accepting a grant from National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), in the amount of $24,987, for COVID-19 vaccination support.

    2. Authorizing an agreement with NACCHO for the grant.

    3. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation of funds to the Health Department.

    1. Directing staff to design and develop recommendations for the creation of an unarmed Traffic Safety Division, to be housed in a department outside of the Police Department, to be responsible for enforcement, education, and other activities that increase traffic safety; and report back to the Public Health & Safety Committee with a project timeline by the end of Quarter 2, 2021.
