    1. Directing staff in the Labor Standards Division of the Civil Rights Department to work with the Workplace Advisory Committee to form a Downtown Workers Subcommittee, to identify options for safeguarding the health and safety of the downtown workforce as it returns from shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to report back to the Public Health & Safety Committee with initial recommendations no later than Jul 31, 2021.

    1. Referring to staff the subject matter of an ordinance amending Title 2, Chapter 40 of the Minneapolis Code of Ordinances relating to Administration: Workplace Regulations, adding a new Article VII entitled "Hospitality Worker Right to Recall," establishing recall rights for certain employees.

  3. 4 CDC grant amendment for Violence Prevention This link open a new window(2021-00173)
    1. Accepting additional grant funding in the amount of $75,000 from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for services related to Realizing and Advancing Collective Equity in Violence Prevention Efforts for Young People of Color (RACE-VIP) for the period August 2020 thru August 2021.

    2. Authorizing an amended agreement with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for the additional grant funds.

    3. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation of funds to the Health Department.

    1. Setting a public hearing for February 18, 2021, to consider an ordinance to be submitted to the voters at the November 2, 2021, municipal election, proposing amendments to Article VII of the Minneapolis City Charter relating to Administration, pertaining to the creation of a new Charter Department to provide public safety services, including law enforcement, and the removal of the Police Department as a standalone Charter Department.

    1. Receiving and filing a presentation of the Police Department's sworn hiring plan for 2021 including current staffing levels, updates on challenges regarding current and projected levels, projection of 2021 active monthly staffing, diversity of classes, and proposed hiring timelines.

    2. Passage of Resolution appropriating funds for 2021 from the Public Safety Staffing Reserve to the Police Department to fund two additional hiring/training classes and the Community Service Officers Program.
