Approving the Department of Licenses and Consumer Services Agenda recommendations granting applications for Liquor, Business and Gambling Licenses as recommended in the Licenses and Consumer Agenda for March 13, 2018, subject to final inspection and compliance with all provisions of applicable codes and ordinances. 

  2. 8 Business license operating conditions: Metro WSI, 4040 Washington Ave N, (Ward 4), held by Metro Wrecker Services, Inc, Motor Vehicle Towing/Servicing Class A License, LIC363749 This link open a new window(2018-00250)
    1. Adopting the Business License Operating Conditions Agreement for Metro WSI, 4040 Washington Ave N, negotiated between the City of Minneapolis and Metro Wrecker Services, Inc. allowing the licensee to retain the Motor Vehicle Towing/Servicing Class A License, subject to adherence with the conditions contained therein. 

  3. 9 Amended business license operating conditions: Azul Nightclub, 400 3rd Ave N, (Ward 3), held by Maracas Entertainment Corp, On-Sale Liquor, Class A License, LIC77641 This link open a new window(2018-00256)
    1. Adopting the Amended Business License Operating Conditions Agreement for Azul Nightclub, 400 3rd Ave N, negotiated between the City of Minneapolis and Maracas Entertainment Corp, allowing the licensee to retain the On-Sale Liquor, Class A License, subject to adherence with the conditions contained therein, which supersede the original set of conditions adopted on April 17, 2015.

    2. Rescinding the Business License Operating Conditions Agreement related to the On-Sale Liquor Class A License held by Maracas Entertainment Corp, 400 3rd Ave N, approved by the Minneapolis City Council on April 17, 2015. 

  4. 10 Rental dwelling license reinstatement: 3420 Chicago Ave, owner Steve Mattek This link open a new window(2018-00261)
    1. Approving the reinstatement of the Rental Dwelling License held by Dominic Scheck for the property located at 3420 Chicago Ave, having received an acceptable management plan and verification that said property is now in compliance with rental licensing standards.

    1. Authorizing the submittal of a grant application to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, in an amount up to $650,000 over a two-year period, to implement public sector safety career pathway strategies.

Authorizing grant agreements for the 2018 Business Technical Assistance Program (B-TAP) as follows:  Neighborhood Development Center, $75,000; Northside Economic Opportunities Network, $60,000; Metropolitan Economic Development Association, $50,000; African Development Center, $50,000; Metropolitan Consortium of Community Developers, $40,000; African Economic Development Solutions, $40,000; West Bank Business Association, $35,000; Latino Economic Development Center, $33,000; Seward Redesign, $30,000; Bunker Labs, $25,000; Bii Gii Wiin Community Development, $24,500; Lake Street Council, $20,000; GLITCH, $20,000; and Impact HUB, $10,000, subject to modifications as approved by the Department of Community Planning & Economic Development Director.
