Accepting grants from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) for the following projects: Azine Alley, 102 1st St N, 104 1st St N, 110 1st St N and 120 1st St N, in the amount of $294,421; and Midtown Corner Senior Housing, 2901 26th Ave S, in the amount of $98,800.

    2. Accepting grants from the Metropolitan Council’s Tax Base Revitalization Account (TBRA) for the following projects: 205 Park, 205 Park Ave S,  in the amount of $352,200; 510 Lake Street Affordable Housing, 510 W Lake St, 514 W Lake St, 516 W Lake St, 2946 Harriet Ave S, and 2948 Harriet Ave S,  in the amount of $215,300; Bunge East, 1206 Brook Ave SE, 901 12th Ave SE, and portions of 1200 Brook Ave SE and 937 13th Ave SE,  in the amount of $73,500; Calhoun Towers, 3404 List Place and 3430 List Place, in the amount of $544,300; Malcolm Yards, 445 Malcolm Ave SE, 501 Malcolm Ave SE, 518 Malcolm Ave SE, 419 29th Ave SE, 504 29th Ave SE and 501 30th Ave SE,  in the amount of $45,700; Midtown Corner Senior Housing, 2901 26th Ave S, in the amount of $85,600; Mino-bimaadiziwin, 2105 Cedar Ave S, 2109 Cedar Ave S, 2113 Cedar Ave S, and 1820 22nd St E, in the amount of $207,900; and Sons of Norway, 1455 West Lake St, 3001 Humboldt Ave S, 3015 Humboldt Ave S, 3025 Humboldt Ave S, and 3016 Holmes Ave S, in the amount of $503,600.

    3. Accepting grants from Hennepin County's Environmental Response Fund (ERF) for the following projects: Bunge East, 1206 Brook Ave SE, 901 12th Ave SE, and portions of 1200 Brook Ave SE and 937 13th Ave SE, in the amount of $34,500; Hook & Ladder, 2212 Jefferson St NE, 2316 Jefferson St NE and 2320 Jefferson St NE, in the amount of $300,000; Leef Project, 212 James Ave N, in the amount of $27,000; Maya Commons, portions of 1200 Brook Ave SE, 901 1/2 12th Ave SE, 913 12th Ave SE, and 937 13th Ave SE, in the amount of $185,260; and Mino-bimaadiziwin, 2105 Cedar Ave S, 2109 Cedar Ave S, 2113 Cedar Ave S, and 1820 22nd St E, in the amount of 145,000.

    4. Authorizing contracts or agreements with DEED, the Metropolitan Council and Hennepin County for the aforesaid grants.

    5. Authorizing execution of one or more funding agreements with each of the sub-recipients identified below (or an affiliated entity) and/or disbursement and related agreements for these grants.

    6. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation of funds to the Department of Community Planning and Economic Development.

Directing CPED staff to explore how the City can encourage developers to incorporate more affordable housing when seeking public brownfield grant funding from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), the Metropolitan Council’s Tax Base Revitalization Account (TBRA), and Hennepin County’s Environmental Response Fund (ERF), for possible implementation in the fall 2018 brownfield grant round.
