If Yusuf Ali fails to close, authorizing the sale of the property to Vision Development Group LLC for $35,000, subject to conditions.

  5. Legal settlement: Jeremy Doschadis v. Bernick's, et al. v. City of Minneapolis This link open a new window(2020-00559)
    1. Approving the settlement of the competing third party claims by the City of Minneapolis and Third Party Plaintiff/Defendant Bernick's et al. ("Defendants") in Jeremy Doschadis v. Bernick’s et al., v. City of Minneapolis, Court File No. 27-CV-19-7739, where both the City of Minneapolis and Defendants agree to dismiss their claims against each other in exchange for the City accepting payment of $5,000 from Defendants, and authorizing the City Attorney's Office to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the settlement.

    1. Approving the settlement of the Workers' Compensation claim of Brandon Kitzerow by payment of $150,000 to Mr. Kitzerow and his attorneys, and authorizing the City Attorney's Office to execute any documents necessary to effectuate the settlement. 

  7. Grant applications to the Metropolitan Council Livable Communities Demonstration Account (LCDA) and Livable Communities Demonstration Account Transit Oriented Development for the 2020 grants round This link open a new window(2020-00580)

Passage of Resolution authorizing the submittal of grant applications to the Metropolitan Council Livable Communities Demonstration Account (LCDA) and Livable Communities Demonstration Account Transit Oriented Development (LCDA-TOD) grant programs for the following developments: Agra at 901 27th Ave S; Juxtaposition Art Campus Redevelopment at 2007 Emerson Ave N; Malcolm Yards Housing at 495 and 525 Malcolm Ave SE; Minneapolis American Indian Center at 1530 Franklin Ave E; Snelling Yards Senior Housing at 4440 Snelling Ave; and The Gardens at Bryn Mawr at 2800 Wayzata Blvd.

    1. Approving the assignment of the redevelopment contract with Longfellow Station Commercial LLC, an affiliate of Sherman Associates, to 3801 Hiawatha LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, an affiliate of Base Camp Properties, or an affiliated entity.

Authorizing the submittal of a grant application by the Division of Race and Equity, in collaboration with the Human Trafficking Prevention Initiative, to the Women's Foundation of Minnesota COVID-19 Women and Girls Response Fund, in the amount of $10,000, to contract with a local organization to implement a direct assistance program for those most impacted by and/or most vulnerable to COVID-19.

    1. Accepting two grants from the Minneapolis Foundation to the Minneapolis Promise Zone, in the total amount of $5,750, for 2020 Census Complete Count Committee-related outreach for historically undercounted communities in North Minneapolis.

    2. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation of funds to the City Coordinator’s Office.

    1. Authorizing a zero-cost, multi-year contract with Wireless Information Network LLC for the design, installation, maintenance, and operation of a Carrier-Neutral Cellular Distributed Antenna System for the Public Service Building Project.

Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001208 with Metropolitan Council Housing and Redevelopment Authority, in the amount of $542,000 for a total amount not to exceed $1,084,000, and an extension through May 31, 2023, for tenant-based rental housing assistance as part of the 2020 Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) funding.

    2. Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001209 with JustUs Health, in the amount of $575,000 for a total amount not to exceed $1,150,000, and an extension through May 31, 2023, for tenant-based rental housing assistance as part of the 2020 Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) funding.

    3. Authorizing an increase to Contract No. COM0001207 with Clare Housing, in the amount of $70,639 for a total amount not to exceed $141,278, and an extension through May 31, 2023, for tenant-based rental housing assistance as part of the 2020 Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) funding.

  13. Safe Routes to School Program grant for Presidents Bicycle Boulevard This link open a new window(2020-00589)
    1. Accepting a Safe Routes to School Program grant from Hennepin County, in the amount of $100,000, for the Presidents Bicycle Boulevard Project.

    2. Passage of Resolution approving appropriation of funds to the Public Works Department.

    1. Authorizing 2019 year-end budget procedures for the 48th Street East and Chicago Avenue South; 50th and France; 54th & Lyndale; Bloomington-Lake; Central Avenue; Chicago-Lake; Dinkytown; East Lake; Eat Street; Linden Hills; Lowry Hill; Lyndale-Lake; Stadium Village; Uptown; and West Broadway Improvement Special Service Districts.

Authorizing an increase to Contract No. C-44179 with Thomas and Sons Construction, Inc., in the amount of $354,375.74 for a total amount not to exceed $3,450,000, to complete additional traffic signal work for the Revised Signal Systems, Storm Sewer, and Pedestrian Curb Ramp Improvements Project.

  16. Contract amendment with Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc. for traffic signal work for Revised Signal Systems and Pedestrian Curb Ramp Improvements Project This link open a new window(2020-00592)
    1. Authorizing an amendment to Contract No. C-43345 with Ti-Zack Concrete, Inc., with a net decrease of $4,714.41 for a total amount not to exceed $1,623,918.59, for the Revised Signal Systems and Pedestrian Curb Ramp Improvements Project, as follows:

      1. Increasing the contract by $61,865,59 for additional project costs due to unforeseen worksite conditions encountered; and
      2. Decreasing the contract by $66,580 due to project quantity underruns.

    1. Approving the layout for Queen Ave N Bicycle Boulevard Project between 2nd Ave N and 44th Ave N.

    2. Authorizing negotiation with private property owners to acquire easements and additional right-of-way, if necessary, for the project.

  18. Bid for Hennepin Ave Sanitary Sewer Replacement Phase 2 Project This link open a new window(2020-00591)
    1. Accepting the low bid of Minger Construction Companies, Inc., submitted on Event No. 966, in the amount of $2,135,235, to provide all materials, labor, equipment, and incidentals necessary for the Hennepin Ave Sanitary Sewer Replacement Phase 2 Project, and authorizing a contract for the project, all in accordance with City specifications.

    1. Passage of Resolution amending Resolution 2020R-093, adopted March 27, 2020, related to the standing committees of and restructuring the basic operations and associated procedures for the City Council.

    2. Directing the City Clerk to:

      1. Amend the 2020 Council and Committees Calendar to reflect the revised biweekly cycle of regular meetings, effective June 1, 2020;
      2. Publish and post the amended 2020 Calendar in appropriate places as public notice for the regular meetings thereof;
      3. Incorporate such further or additional changes to the 2020 Council and Committees Calendar, as amended, to accommodate the needs of the City Council; and
      4. Adjust matters previously referred to committees and re-direct those items to the appropriate committee meeting dates and times under the revised two-week meeting cycle.
